Bavaria: Cardinal Marx opens exhibition on "Damned Lust"

Munich/Freising (dpa/lby) - Munich Cardinal Reinhard Marx will open an exhibition about "Damned Lust" next weekend. The Freising Diocesan Museum deals with "the field of tension between sexuality and religion as reflected in art," as the Catholic Archdiocese of Munich and Freising announced on Monday. The title of the exhibition is "Damn Lust! Church. Body. Art". It is scheduled to open on Saturday (March 4th) and can then be seen on Freising Cathedral Hill until May 29th. According to the Archdiocese, more than 150 works of art will be on display, from antiquity to the early 19th century, "which reflect the tense relationship between sexuality and the church".
