Munich (dpa/lby) - With the massive relaxation of the corona measures, the number of fake vaccination cards and recovery cards discovered has also decreased significantly. In the first half of 2022, the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office registered around 1,850 reports of documentary offenses related to the topic of corona vaccination, according to a request from the German Press Agency. "In January 2022, the number of cases was still in the high three-digit range. Currently, the reporting processes have reduced to a low three-digit range," explained a spokesman.
Since the spring of 2021, the officials had recorded fake stickers, labels and stamps in the vaccination cards, fake certificates or proof of recovery more than 5,500 times. "Overall, since the relaxation of the corona measures, there has been a significant decrease in the number of cases," the spokesman summed up.
Since August 23, 2021, according to a decision by the federal and state governments, adults have usually only been allowed to visit numerous places of public life with proof of vaccination or recovery or with a fresh negative test certificate. The nationwide measures expired with a transitional period at the beginning of April 2022. In Bavaria, too, most of the restrictions of the Infection Protection Measures Ordinance were lifted on April 3rd. Since then there have been no more access restrictions.
