After a restless weekend, the new week promises summer weather in many parts of Bavaria. The south of the Free State has to wait a little longer. In Franconia, on the other hand, sweating is the order of the day.
Munich (dpa / lby) - After a restless weekend with thunderstorms and rainfall, the summer weather returns to large parts of the Free State at the beginning of the week. A high pressure area brings sun and temperatures up to 31 degrees to Bavaria from the north, said meteorologist Jens Kühne from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Munich. It will probably be the hottest again in Lower Franconia.
On the other hand, average altitudes on the edge of the Alps would have to wait longer for sunny days, said Kühne. Hikers could still be in the clouds there on Monday and Tuesday - but initially with more comfortable temperatures of around 25 degrees.
In the second half of the week, the temperatures are likely to rise a little in the entire Free State, said Kühne. In principle, what people in Bavaria are used to from the past few weeks will then apply: While rain showers are still possible in the Alps, especially in Berchtesgadener Land and in the Allgäu, in Franconia it's time to "water the flowers" again because of the dry weather. The risk of forest fires remains correspondingly high in some Franconian districts.
