Munich (dpa / lby) - Ex-ski racer Felix Neureuther and Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth (Greens) received the Bavarian Constitutional Order on Friday. State President Ilse Aigner (CSU) handed over the medals in the Senate Hall of the Maximilianeum. According to the Bavarian state parliament, 50 "outstanding personalities" were honored with the award this year.
Among the distinguished personalities were the entrepreneur couple Clarissa and Michael Käfer, entrepreneur Susanne Klatten, district council president Thomas Karmasin and the president of the VdK social association, Verena Bentele. Actor and director Michael (Bully) Herbig, on the other hand, was not in the state parliament on Friday, and the medal will be presented to him at a later date.
The Bavarian State Parliament honors citizens who are actively committed to the values of the Bavarian Constitution with the Constitutional Order. The award was donated as the Bavarian Constitutional Medal on December 1, 1961 by the then President of the State Parliament, Rudolf Hanauer. For 60 years it has been public recognition for citizens who are outstandingly committed to the common good and thus fill the values of the Bavarian Constitution with life. Since 2021, the order has been awarded as a Bavarian constitutional order in one class.
