The number of so-called ransomware attacks in particular has increased. This refers to cyber attacks on companies, universities and authorities with the aim of extorting ransom. In 2021, the State Criminal Police Office recorded an increase of 25 percent, from 300 to 380 reported cases. "And that's just the bright field," emphasized Herrmann.
