Mertingen (dpa / lby) - A cyclist smashed his head through the windshield of a car in an accident in the Donau-Ries district. Since the 53-year-old was wearing a helmet, he was only slightly injured in the accident, the police said on Wednesday. The man suffered bruises, whiplash and cuts in the accident on Tuesday in Mertingen. He was able to free himself and was then taken to a clinic.
The 37-year-old driver of the car had previously overlooked the 53-year-old and his 15-year-old son on their bikes when entering a priority road. The father collided with the car and hit the windshield so hard that his head got stuck in it.
