Bavaria: Deadly educational dispute: Life imprisonment required

Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - In the process of a deadly dispute over different views on child-rearing, the public prosecutor's office has demanded life imprisonment for a 43-year-old man from Bad Windsheim (Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district). The man had stabbed his ex-wife and has therefore had to answer to the 5th Criminal Chamber of the Nuremberg-Fürth District Court since November 22nd. The public prosecutor assumes that he wanted to take the upbringing of their children into his own hands.

According to the indictment, the accused moved back in with the family after separating from the mother of his children - but spent the night in the children's room. He monitored the mother of three for hours with the recording function of his mobile phone. He wanted to prove that his ex-wife maintained changing sexual contacts and thus disqualified himself in his view as a mother.

In addition to life imprisonment, the public prosecutor's office is also demanding that the accused's particular degree of guilt be determined. In the event of a conviction, this would mean that a possible release from prison would not be examined automatically after 15 years. The defense, on the other hand, demanded a much lighter prison sentence of eight years and three months for manslaughter.

The 5th criminal division of the district court wants to make a judgment on Friday afternoon.
