Landsberg am Lech (dpa / lby) - Two years after an accident in Upper Bavaria that killed four construction workers, charges have been brought against two suspects. The Augsburg public prosecutor's office had brought charges against the two managing directors of the construction company at the district court in Landsberg for allegations of negligent homicide, court spokeswoman Sabine Grub said on Thursday. A date for a trial has not yet been set.
"The two suspects are accused by the public prosecutor's office of having their employees erect an unstable supporting framework as part of the construction of two buildings," reported the court spokeswoman. As a result, the ceiling collapsed and the four employees were buried by concrete masses. According to the investigators, the suspects failed to check the scaffolding.
The managing directors or their lawyers now have the opportunity to comment on the allegations. After the statements are available, the district court will then decide whether to hold a main hearing.
