Bavaria: Dehoga Bavaria calls for higher incomes for employees

A shortage of workers, rising prices and the pandemic are affecting the hospitality industry in Bavaria. Now the industry is meeting to talk about the future.

Munich (dpa / lby) - The Bavarian Hotel and Restaurant Association is demanding higher incomes for employees and lower labor costs for employers. The aim is to increase purchasing power, said Dehoga in Munich. The citizens' allowance, which was initially rejected in the Federal Council, was a "fatal mistake". It takes away the incentive to work at a time when all companies were looking for employees.

The industry is meeting today (10:00 a.m.) for the Bavarian Host Day in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to discuss future challenges. Around 800 guests are expected at the event. Among other things, Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) will give a speech on the role of hosts in tourism.
