Bavaria: dispute escalates: man threatens opponents with a gun

Augsburg (dpa / lby) - A 38-year-old man threatened a 45-year-old man with a gun during a dispute in Augsburg and was then arrested. The two men had initially argued at a train station on Friday, the police said on Sunday. The 38-year-old then aimed a pistol at his opponent, but the other man was able to quickly knock the gun out of his hand. A shot was not fired.

After that, both of them attacked each other with their fists, whereby the 45-year-old was slightly injured. After a short time, the gun owner ran away, but was caught by the police. The pistol he had previously discarded was found hanging from a tree.

Both men are now being investigated for assault. The 38-year-old also has to answer for threats and violation of the weapons law. According to the police, it is currently the subject of the investigation whether it is a live firearm.
