The reason for this is the current wave of flu and colds, said the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Bavaria (KVB) on Wednesday. One therefore expects significantly more patients and significantly more calls. The staff in the switching centers for the nationwide number 116117 has already been increased. Nevertheless, the KVB recommends that you first find out about the opening hours of the on-call practices on the Internet before calling.
Doctors and the staff in the on-call practices were already working “at the limit of their capacity”, mainly because of illness-related absences. "The current wave of infections is sapping the strength of all doctors, their teams and the employees of our switching centers," the KVB board was quoted as saying in the message. "We appeal to the population to be understanding and to be patient."
