Pastetten (dpa / lby) - A driver drove his car into a truck driving in front of him on the Autobahn 94 near Pastetten (Erding district) and was seriously injured. The 66-year-old driver of the truck drove into the left lane on Wednesday evening to overtake another semitrailer, the police said. The 34-year-old driver overlooked the truck at high speed and crashed his vehicle head-on into the rear of the truck. Due to the force of the collision, his car was thrown onto the left-hand side of the road again and crashed into the concrete safety barrier. The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The freeway was closed for an hour after the accident. According to the police, there were significant traffic delays and a kilometer-long traffic jam.
