Munich/Regensburg (dpa/lby) - With a uniform electronic tariff, you can now travel from Munich to Regensburg. The "Swipe Ride" pilot project has been expanded from Munich to the Regensburger Verkehrsverbund (RVV), the Ministry of Transport in Munich announced on Monday. The offer makes the sometimes complicated search for the right ticket superfluous, explained Minister of Transport Christian Bernreiter (CSU): Instead, you can board the bus or train, check in and out using a smartphone app - and the fare will be calculated automatically and debited from your account.
The Munich transport and tariff association (MVV), the transport association Greater Ingolstadt (VGI) and the Regensburg transport association (RVV) as well as the railway companies DB Regio, agilis, Bayerische Regiobahn and Länderbahn are involved in the project. According to the ministry, the Free State of Bavaria is supporting the “eTarif in the Donau-Isar model region” project with around 500,000 euros.
