Scharnitz (dpa / lby) - A suspected perpetrator chose a bad time for a burglary on Sunday on the border between Tyrol and Bavaria. The 24-year-old was stopped near the crime scene in the Austrian border town of Scharnitz by German officials who were there to protect the G7 summit in Elmau, Bavaria, according to the Tyrolean police.
The house key and bicycle of the stolen man were secured from the man who lives in Tyrol. He was stopped by the German officers in the area between Scharnitz and the neighboring Bavarian town of Mittenwald and then arrested by Austrian colleagues. The suspect refused to comment, but said there were incriminating video recordings.
