Bavaria: ex-boyfriend threatens police officers with dogs and chainsaws

Sankt Lichtenfels (dpa / lby) - A presumably drunk man threatened a police patrol with a chainsaw, two dogs and a petrol can. According to police reports, a 28-year-old called the officers to her house in Sankt Lichtenfels on Friday before because her ex-boyfriend had driven up there and was rioting. When the police arrived there on Thursday evening, the man fled into the garden of the house.

The 36-year-old fetched an adult Great Dane and a second dog "and aggressively stood up in front of the officers," the police said on Friday. Attempts to calm the man were in vain. He became even more aggressive, fetched a chainsaw and a can of petrol and insulted the officers. He then smashed the window to the conservatory of the building.

Meanwhile, officers called for reinforcements. They used pepper spray and brought the man down. He now faces charges of resisting law enforcement officers, insulting, threatening, damaging property, drunk driving and assault.
