Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - the customs office in Nuremberg has confiscated more than two thousand counterfeit luxury bags - the originals would have been worth around 1.7 million euros. Officials discovered the forgeries in a truck at the beginning of April, as the customs office announced on Thursday. The shipment from Turkey was intended for a company in Germany. The recipient is now under investigation.
Counterfeits of luxury items, especially clothing and sports shoes, were often noticed in the Nuremberg customs office, a spokeswoman said. "But we rarely have such a large delivery. Usually it's more like letters from private individuals." In 2021, the Nuremberg customs office found fake luxury items with an original value of 2.5 million euros.
