Passau (dpa / lby) - In the appeal process against a doctor because of false mask certificates, the public prosecutor demanded a two-year prison sentence without probation and a temporary ban on working. The defense attorneys of the 59-year-old pleaded for acquittal before the district court of Passau on Tuesday. The doctor has to answer in an appeals process. The verdict is scheduled for next Tuesday (November 15).

In May, the doctor was sentenced to a suspended sentence, a fine and a partial ban on working at the district court in the Lower Bavarian city. The judges charged him with issuing incorrect health certificates in 79 cases. At the time, the man admitted that he had not carried out any examinations on the patients concerned.
