Wiesenfelden (dpa / lby) - A farmer in Lower Bavaria was run over by his tractor while mowing and died. The 74-year-old drove the vehicle over a field near Wiesenfelden (Straubing-Bogen district) on Monday, the police said on Tuesday.
The man probably stopped working because of a broken brake system and parked the tractor. He probably tried to repair the damage himself. He is said to have been very close to the tractor. Because this was on sloping terrain, he started moving, as the police statement said. The farmer was pinned under a tire.
