Bavaria: FDP demands government statement from Minister of Education Piazolo

Munich (dpa/lby) - In view of numerous problems in the education system, the state parliament FDP is demanding a government statement in the state parliament from Bavaria's Minister of Education Michael Piazolo (free voters). "Bavaria needs a convincing educational policy strategy. The schools are struggling with the consequences of Corona, the shortage of teachers and still a backlog in digitization. The Ministry of Education must finally get out of the eternal crisis mode and set clearly structured priorities," said the education policy spokesman of the parliamentary group, Matthias Fischbach, on Friday in Munich.

Piazolo must "put his political agenda up for debate in parliament - in the hope that he will pursue one at all," emphasized Fischbach. A year ago he asked the Ministry of Education in vain for information about the planned projects in the second half of the legislative period. "There is simply not enough coming from the Ministry of Education. Education is the future issue of our society. Today's young people form the future foundation for our growth and prosperity in Bavaria."
