Rosenheim/Freilassing (dpa/lby) - The federal police picked up dozens of people illegally entering Bavaria at the weekend. In Rosenheim, 19 people were taken into custody on a night train on Sunday, the federal police said on Monday. Among them were eight minors. 17 people were handed over to the Austrian police. Two young people who were traveling without relatives were placed in the care of the Rosenheim youth welfare office.

On Saturday, the federal police in Freilassing picked up a total of 33 people who they accused of trying to enter the country illegally while checking a train coming from Austria. They were therefore also handed over to the Austrian authorities.
