Bavaria: Federal police warns of rails as an adventure playground

Passau (dpa / lby) - In view of the summer holidays, the federal police have warned against trips to the tracks and stationary trains. "Railway systems often exert a great fascination on young people and arouse curiosity," said Rainer Zollitsch, the prevention officer at the Federal Police Inspectorate in Passau, on Tuesday. However, it is forbidden to enter railway facilities.

The federal police warns against wanting to use rails or trains for photos or just taking a quick shortcut across the tracks. Trains are on the move at all times of the day and night and need 1000 meters to stop.

It is just as dangerous to climb parked trains. Being close to the overhead lines can easily lead to an electric shock, even if you don't even touch the line. According to the federal police, this often ends fatally because the overhead lines have a voltage of 15,000 volts.
