Bavaria: Franconia's new wine queen is elected

It's a full-time job with a golden crown in your hair: the office of Franconian Wine Queen. In the next twelve months, she will be traveling at home and abroad to promote Silvaner, Domina and Co. Three young women are up for election this year.

Würzburg (dpa / lby) - Three years after the election of the reigning wine queen, Franconian winegrowers are getting a new representative of their interests. Three young women are going into the race. The previous wine queen Carolin Meyer had represented Franconia since 2019 due to the corona. A term usually ends after a year with the election of a new queen.

The Franconian Wine Queen has been chosen since 1950 - this Friday in Würzburg (11.30 a.m.). The decision is traditionally made by a jury with representatives from viticulture, politics, business, media and tourism. The spectacle of wine and beautiful women is an important event in Franconia, for which not only numerous district administrators and mayors, but also federal and state politicians like to find a day off in their diaries.

The choices are Linda Keller (23) from Ramsthal (Bad Kissingen district), Emmi Wendemuth (21) from Albertshofen (Kitzingen district) and Eva Brockmann (23) from Großwallstadt (Miltenberg district). You have to sell yourself well and answer questions from the judges.

The Franconian Wine Queen will hold hundreds of appointments for winegrowers and their viticulture in Bavaria, Germany and abroad.
