Bavaria: freight train drags man 300 meters

Passau (dpa / lby) - A man wanted to jump on a moving freight train in Passau Central Station and was seriously injured. As the federal police announced on Saturday, the 41-year-old man was standing on platform 1 at around 5:20 a.m. in the early morning when the freight train pulled in to stop for a change of personnel. The man from Georgia wanted to jump on the freight train, but was caught and dragged 300 meters along, said a police spokesman and confirmed a corresponding report in the "Passauer Neue Presse". The injured person was taken to the Passau Clinic. Whether the man took alcohol or drugs or whether he wanted to take his own life is still the subject of the investigation.
