Bavaria: gang of thieves: police arrested three men

Kreuth (dpa / lby) - They are said to have stolen tens of thousands of euros and jewelry from elderly people in several federal states: the police arrested three suspected members of a gang of thieves at a campsite in Kreuth am Tegernsee (Miesbach district). The investigators found jewelry and several tens of thousands of euros among the men on Thursday, the police said on Friday.

The three men, aged 26, 27 and 47, would probably have set up quarters on the campsite to commit theft in southern Bavaria. They are actually registered in North Rhine-Westphalia. There and in Rhineland-Palatinate, too, they are said to have stolen from people. A judge issued an arrest warrant on Friday.

According to the police, there was an increase in thefts in the Rosenheim, Munich and Memmingen area, especially in 2021. And there were also several cases in 2022: just last Tuesday, two men pretended to be craftsmen and stole from a 79-year-old woman in Rosenheim. This is how the police got on the trail of the three men at the campsite on Tegernsee.
