Bavaria: Georg Gänswein presents his book about Ratzinger

Munich (dpa / lby) - The longtime private secretary of Joseph Ratzinger, Georg Gänswein, presented his book on Tuesday (6 p.m.) in Munich about Pope Benedict XVI, who died on New Year's Eve. "Nothing but the Truth" is the name of the work that was published in Italian immediately after the death of the Pope Emeritus and will be available in German this Wednesday (March 8). It also deals with the relationship between Benedict and his successor Pope Francis.

The Vatican has not officially commented on the book. Observers, however, recognized Francis' statements as a reaction to the criticism. "Sometimes a word is enough to hurt or kill a brother or sister," he said at an audience. "We think of slander, of gossip, which is so common, so commonplace, and so painful and destructive."
