Würzburg (dpa / lby) - In Lower Franconia, an old lady died of her serious injuries five weeks after her grandson attacked her. The public prosecutor's office and the criminal investigation department are now investigating the suspected mentally ill man on suspicion of murder, as the police headquarters in Lower Franconia announced on Thursday.
The grandson lived with his grandmother in Krombach (Aschaffenburg district) and attacked the old lady on October 12. The police arrested the grandson a little later on strong suspicion of a crime. However, he was not taken into custody, but was placed in a district hospital. The woman was taken to a hospital by rescue helicopter, but never recovered.
