Brunnthal (dpa / lby) - Due to a medical emergency, a rescue helicopter landed on Autobahn 8 in Upper Bavaria. The motorway had to be temporarily closed at Brunnthal (Munich district) in the direction of travel to Salzburg, the police said. A 44-year-old from Hesse had gotten bad air while driving and could no longer drive.
He was on his way to Croatia with his mother on Sunday for vacation. The helicopter landed on the A8 and then flew the man to the hospital for evaluation. According to the police, the highway was blocked for about 30 minutes, after the departure the officials released the blockage again. What triggered the medical emergency is still unclear.
