Bavaria: Holetschek wants less bureaucracy in the clinics

Munich (dpa / lby) - In view of the great shortage of staff in many hospitals, Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) wants to reduce bureaucracy. "The staff situation in the clinics is extremely tense. The problem is not only a lack of staff, but also time-consuming bureaucracy. The hand on the bed is now more important than the one at the desk," said Holetschek on Sunday in Munich.

He agreed on a joint approach with representatives of the Bavarian Hospital Society, some clinics, the health insurance companies and the medical service. "At the state level, we will use the existing scope for simplification as far as possible. But the decisive lever lies with the federal government," emphasized the CSU politician. "We now need at least a temporary moratorium on bureaucracy at the federal level."

It is not a matter of "throwing absolutely necessary information overboard, but of avoiding multiple documentation and creating simplifications wherever possible".
