Munich (dpa/lby) - IG Metall is expanding its warning strikes in Bavaria after the fourth round of collective bargaining in the metal and electrical industry failed to reach an agreement. On Wednesday, 50 companies in Bavaria should be affected, as she announced. That is the highest number in one day in the current collective bargaining dispute, said a spokesman.
"An extension of our warning strikes and a further intensification of our labor dispute are now imminent," said negotiator Johann Horn. Activities planned for Wednesday included SKF in Schweinfurt, MTU in Munich, Airbus in Manching and BMW in Dingolfing.
The collective bargaining talks for the approximately 855,000 employees in Bavaria were adjourned on Tuesday evening without agreement or significant rapprochement. In the nationwide collective bargaining conflict, IG Metall is demanding eight percent more wages for a contract term of twelve months. Employers have offered a one-off payment of 3,000 euros net for a period of 30 months, as well as an unspecified increase in the wage tables.
