Bavaria: Interior Minister Herrmann wants more gun controls in Bavaria

Munich (dpa / lby) - Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann has called for more gun controls in the Free State after a major raid on the "Reichsbürger" scene last week. "It is clear in any case that the number of controls must be increased," said the CSU politician on Monday in Munich. There will soon be a new recommendation to the mayors and district administrators in the Free State on how they "should deal with this issue". In Bavaria, the independent towns and district offices are the weapons authorities responsible for checking registered gun owners.

The main thing is to identify possible problem cases with the gun licenses in good time, emphasized Herrmann. "The vast majority of shooters and hunters" are "no problem". Therefore, during controls, the authorities "must not just blindly visit everyone, but see very specifically: where is it particularly important to look?"
