There will soon be a new recommendation to the mayors and district administrators in the Free State on how they "should deal with this issue". In Bavaria, the independent towns and district offices are the weapons authorities responsible for checking registered gun owners.
The main thing is to identify possible problem cases with the gun licenses in good time, emphasized Herrmann. "The vast majority of shooters and hunters" are "no problem". Therefore, during controls, the authorities "must not just blindly visit everyone, but see very specifically: where is it particularly important to look?"
