Bavaria: Interlocking work leads to rail replacement traffic

Munich (dpa / lby) - Work on the S-Bahn network in the state capital will lead to major restrictions over the next two weekends, including total standstill on the Munich main route. Instead, buses then serve the central route through the city center, as announced by Deutsche Bahn. Specifically, there are timetable changes from Friday 10:40 p.m. to Monday 4:40 a.m. because work is being done on the new electronic signal box at Ostbahnhof. At the same time, a railway overpass is being renewed and built in Laim on the second main line.

At night, all lines are affected by the closure of the main line, there is rail replacement traffic between Hackerbrücke and Pasing. During the day, the S2 and S4 run without restrictions. The other lines are either diverted or do not stop at specific stops.

In addition, there will be construction-related restrictions on numerous nights and on other weekends in the near future. This affects both the area around the Ostbahnhof and the western main line area, as the railway announced. Passengers are shown all changes in the timetable information in the app, on the website or at the machine. Questions are also answered on 089 55892665.
