Bavaria: Kripo plans further search in Donau: finding of children's corpses

Vohburg (dpa / lby) - After a dead boy was found in the Danube, the police are planning further search measures in the river in the coming week. As the police reported on Wednesday, the Danube near Vohburg in Upper Bavaria (district of Pfaffenhofen/Ilm) is to be searched with a sonar device together with the Technical Relief Agency. This technique makes it possible to locate objects under water.

A corresponding search had to be canceled on Tuesday because the Danube was too restless due to the onset of rain and the sonar device was therefore no longer able to deliver clear signals. The investigators initially want to narrow down large areas in the Danube so that divers can later be deployed in a targeted manner.

Last week, a canoeist discovered the body of a four to six-year-old child in the river. The dead boy was wrapped up and had been in the water for a long time. It is not yet clear whether this is a crime. The criminal police are hoping for further information from the forensic examination of the body, which has not yet been completed.
