Zeitlarn (dpa / lby) - Gases from a probably defective refrigerator have called a large contingent of rescue workers into action in a retirement home in Upper Palatinate. The escaping gases were probably distributed over two floors by the device on the ground floor in the facility in Zeitlarn (Regensburg district), a spokesman said on Tuesday. 17 seniors and 5 employees had complained of breathing difficulties during the incident on Monday.
The building had been cleared and aired. The symptoms in those affected disappeared after a short time. A total of six ambulances, six emergency doctors and several fire brigades were deployed.
