Wernberg-Köblitz (dpa/lby) - A fence in Wernberg-Köblitz was almost blown up by a lightning strike on Friday evening. Flying concrete parts damaged windows, glass doors and the facades of the house and the neighboring house in the Schwandorf district, as the police announced on Saturday. Other chunks were distributed within a radius of five to ten meters on the street.
"The concrete pillars were completely shredded," said a police spokesman. In addition, an adjacent wooden fence and a cypress tree caught fire when the lightning struck. The damage caused is estimated at at least 30,000 euros.
