Munich (dpa / lby) - Large parts of local public transport in large Bavarian cities will stand still on Friday. The reason for this are warning strikes, with which the Verdi union wants to put pressure on in the collective bargaining conflict and for the traffic turnaround. In Nuremberg, the local transport company announced on Wednesday that it would leave all vehicles parked because "it cannot offer an adequate and reliable range of subways, trams and buses". The subway line 1 in Fürth and all bus lines that lead from Nuremberg to Fürth, Erlangen or other neighboring towns are also affected, it said.
In Munich, the warning strike lasts two full days on Thursday and Friday. But the S-Bahn and parts of the buses run here. The Augsburg transport and tariff association expects a large-scale failure of the bus and tram lines in the city area on Friday, but not for the regional bus lines and other rail traffic. In Regensburg, the local transport company assumes that most trips by city bus routes will be canceled on Friday, but emphasized that regional buses will not be affected.
Verdi Bayern did not give a complete overview of the individual cities affected on Wednesday. However, trade union representatives from Ingolstadt and Bamberg said that all-day warning strikes would also be called there. However, regional lines and school buses operated by private providers could drive. According to Verdi, there will probably be no participation in the current round of warning strikes in Landshut.
