Würzburg (dpa / lby) - A 28-year-old man is in custody because he drunk threatened a man with an air pistol and then shot at a Würzburg tram. An investigating judge ordered the detention on Friday, as a police spokesman said. The 28-year-old was arrested on Thursday after the incident. The gun and a vial of amphetamine were taken from him.
The 28-year-old is said to have initially urged a 23-year-old with a pistol to hand over a cigarette in front of a club. Then he is said to have shot a tram with a steel ball. Nobody was injured. The damage is estimated at around 1000 euros.
A breath alcohol test showed the 28-year-old to be two per thousand. A blood test should clarify whether he was also still under the influence of drugs. Among other things, he has to answer for aggravated extortion.
