Thiersheim (dpa / lby) - Because he is said to have killed his mother in Thiersheim in Upper Franconia (Wunsiedel district), a 20-year-old has been arrested. As the police and prosecutors announced on Monday, the man is said to have announced on Sunday afternoon via emergency call that he had killed his 54-year-old mother.
Emergency services found the woman dead in her home. A spokeswoman said that police officers arrested the 20-year-old there without resistance. He is suspected of "knowingly and purposefully killing his mother," the statement said.
An investigating judge issued an arrest warrant for manslaughter against the 20-year-old on Monday morning. He was then taken to a correctional facility. The police and public prosecutor's office have not yet given any details about the course of events and possible motives for the suspect.
