Bavaria: Man dies when arrested: According to reports, heart failure

Wenzenbach (dpa / lby) - After the death of a man when he was arrested by the police, an expert report revealed acute heart failure as the cause. The reason for this was the physically demanding resistance actions of the 31-year-old in combination with medically prescribed medication, as the public prosecutor's office in Regensburg announced on Wednesday. The man was arrested in March in Wenzenbach near Regensburg because he is said to have injured a 28-year-old with an iron bar on the head. He died during the bondage.

According to forensic medicine, the man had a "borderline high heart weight with a latent readiness for failure of the heart muscles". In addition, there may have been interactions with cannabinoids, which had also been detected in the man's blood.

The autopsy of the body in March initially did not clarify the cause of death. According to the information, no traces of intensive use of force were found at the time - apart from traces of being held on the arms. According to the public prosecutor's office, there is still no evidence of criminal behavior by the police officers. Several witnesses saw the incident.
