Munich (dpa / lby) - After the killing of a 66-year-old woman, the Munich I Regional Court sentenced a man to life imprisonment on Friday for murder. According to the court, the man broke into the woman in Munich at the end of December 2020 to rob her. When he found her, he is said to have attacked and killed her. A subtenant found the woman's body the next day in the house.
The convict is said to have learned from his son, who temporarily sublet the woman who was killed, that the woman was wealthy. The man therefore traveled to Germany for the burglary in the 66-year-old from Bosnia-Herzegovina and returned there after the fact. Investigators tracked him down from DNA found at the crime scene.
The accused and prosecutors accepted the verdict on Friday. However, the judgment is not yet final. The accessory prosecutor now has one week to appeal.
