Ruhpolding (dpa / lby) - After an alleged attack on a 59-year-old in Ruhpolding in Upper Bavaria, the background to the crime is still unclear. A police spokesman said on Saturday that there were no indications of the possible perpetrator or perpetrators. The public prosecutor's office and the criminal police are still investigating on suspicion of attempted homicide.

The man was found unconscious in his workshop on Thursday with a serious stab wound. He was taken to a clinic and operated on. He was said to be out of danger.

Several police patrol car crews drove to the scene. Investigators from the Traunstein Criminal Police Office and forensics officers were on site. Search measures, in which the Bavarian riot police and a police helicopter were deployed in addition to patrol car crews from the region, remained unsuccessful.
