Bavaria: Man with an arrest warrant and no driver's license flees when checked

Eggolsheim (dpa / lby) - The escape from a traffic check by the police in Upper Franconia ended for a man in the prison. The 47-year-old without a driver's license ignored the officials' stop signals on a street near Eggolsheim (Forchheim district), the police reported on Saturday. When he finally stopped on Friday evening, according to the police, he locked himself in his car and stepped on the gas pedal. The officials saved themselves in front of the vehicle by jumping to the side and then drove after the man.

About a town away, they stopped the man for the second time. Because there was an open arrest warrant against the 47-year-old, he was arrested. According to their own statements, the police could not say the reason for the arrest warrant for data protection reasons.
