Eching in Lower Bavaria (dpa / lby) - After an 89-year-old was allegedly seriously injured by her carer, a suspect voluntarily turned himself in to the police. The 33-year-old was arrested for the time being and is to be transferred to the Landshut correctional facility, a police spokesman said on Thursday. Police released a mug shot of the man on Monday.
According to the police, the 33-year-old was the elderly woman's carer and had lived in her house since August. The 89-year-old's son found his mother there on December 2 with severe head injuries. Since then, the 33-year-old suspect has been on the run. The elderly woman was still in the intensive care unit. The injuries inflicted on her are potentially life-threatening.
