Regensburg (dpa / lby) - A 22-year-old is said to have operated a lively drug trade together with his 53-year-old mother in the Regensburg area. The woman is now in custody, the young man is currently being treated for drug abuse in a specialist clinic, but an arrest warrant was also issued against him, the police said on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old is said to have communicated with his mother from the rehab clinic and instructed her about buying, selling and storing narcotics and money. He also organized contact with backers via various online services, it said.
According to the police, the mother and son used the cellar of a "gullible older lady" as a drug hiding place. The 53-year-old and a drug supplier were arrested on November 27 when they handed over a kilogram of marijuana. The supplier from Regensburg was also taken into custody.
During the subsequent search of seven homes, police found around 1.3 kilos of marijuana, several dangerous items - including baseball bats and knives - a variety of cell phones, cash and drug paraphernalia.
