Geldersheim (dpa / lby) - More than three and a half months after the killing of a baby in a reception center for asylum seekers in Lower Franconia, the motive of the suspected mother is still unclear. According to the Schweinfurt public prosecutor's office, the alleged 27-year-old woman admitted the crime and is investigating murder. "According to the current state of knowledge, the child succumbed to an injury inflicted on him in the neck area with a knife," according to the prosecution. The Somali woman has been in custody since the three-month-old girl died in early August.
"In the preliminary assessment, the psychiatrist did not find any legally relevant restriction of her criminal responsibility," the public prosecutor said. However, the investigation into the act of violence in Geldersheim near Schweinfurt has not yet been completed.
