Landshut (dpa / lby) - An unknown motorcyclist gave himself a chase with the police in Lower Bavaria on Friday. During a traffic check, the driver in Landshut ignored the officials' signals, suddenly accelerated and drove out of town, the police said.
The police followed the motorcyclist for about 25 minutes in the morning as he drove recklessly through three towns. The man is said to have driven at up to 180 kilometers per hour and sometimes in the opposite direction of travel. Sometimes he overtook in confusing places, the officials said. He eventually escaped via a narrow bike path in Geisenhausen. A woman is said to have been riding on the back of the motorcycle the entire time.
