Bavaria: Motorists caused five accidents with two injured

Erlangen (dpa / lby) - A man caused five accidents in Middle Franconia, injuring a driver and a pedestrian. As the police announced on Tuesday, the man said he was under the influence of drugs on his journey from Erlangen to Adelsdorf (Erlangen-Höchstadt district) on Monday afternoon.

On the approximately 15-kilometer route, he first collided with a car when he overtook it at significantly excessive speed. The exterior mirror of the overtaken car broke off. According to the police, he then raced through the Dechsendorf district of Erlangen at around 100 kilometers per hour, where he wanted to overtake another car. Because of oncoming traffic, however, he had to cut back in and crashed into another car, which was then no longer roadworthy. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.

On his further journey, he collided with three more cars and caught a 38-year-old who wanted to cross the street on foot. The man was thrown onto the sidewalk and suffered minor injuries.

The police finally stopped the man in Adelsdorf. Officers seized the man's driver's license and car. The 26-year-old also had to give a blood sample. The police are now investigating against him, among other things, on suspicion of endangering road traffic.
