Nuremberg (dpa/lby) - The Nuremberg State Philharmonic celebrates its 100th anniversary in October - for a whole week. From October 9th to 15th, the orchestra invites you to various concerts and events related to the anniversary, as the State Theater announced on Monday. The festival week begins on Sunday with an open day in the opera house. The opening concert on Monday will be given by the Junge Staatsphilharmonie, founded in 2021, with Richard Wagner's overture to "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg". It is also the first concert of the young orchestra. In addition, the Staatsphilharmonie will be heard at various locations in the city center on Wednesday. The festival week ends on Saturday with the world premiere of Lera Auerbach's 5th symphony.
