Bavaria: On Pentecost Sunday it will be quiet on Bavaria's streets

Munich (dpa / lby) - On Pentecost Sunday it was quiet on the highways in Bavaria. There were hardly any traffic jams, as a spokesman for the ADAC in Munich said. Heavier traffic in the afternoon only prevailed around Munich on the Autobahn 8.

On Saturday, Whitsun excursionists had to be patient on Bavaria's roads - there was heavy traffic, especially in the direction of the Alps. On the A8 from Munich to Salzburg, cars were backed up in the afternoon over a distance of twelve kilometers. There was a traffic jam of about nine kilometers on the A93.

Overall, however, there were no excessive congestion problems on Saturday. As a rule, most Whitsun vacationers are on the streets on Friday afternoon and then again on Whit Monday, according to the ADAC.
