Lenggries (dpa / lby) - A paraglider was seriously injured in a crash in the Upper Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen and died in a hospital. The 59-year-old pilot was already in the air when her screen collapsed, probably due to a gust of wind, the police said on Wednesday.
After the incident on Tuesday evening, the paraglider rapidly lost altitude and hit a slope on Brauneck near Lenggries. The woman sustained serious injuries from the force of the impact. She was taken to a hospital by rescue helicopter, where she reportedly died that same evening.
