Bavaria: Passau Dachshund Museum is moving: a new start in Regensburg

Regensburg/Passau (dpa/lby) - Now it's fixed: The Passau Dachshund Museum is moving to Regensburg. It should start on April 2nd, matching the five-year anniversary, said the owners Seppi Küblbeck and Oliver Storz of the German Press Agency on Friday. Together with their dachshund trio Moni, Blümchen and little Seppi, they are looking forward to a new start. The lease for the rooms in Regensburg's old town has been signed and the one in Passau has already been terminated. "You can not put the happiness in words," says Küblbeck. Even if it is very difficult for them to say goodbye to Passau.

The impetus for the move was a dispute with the Passau city administration last summer, which ignited over a parasol and seating area set up in front of the museum. Since the sunshade ban, they have been looking for rooms in Regensburg. But the trouble is now over, says Küblbeck. Now they are looking ahead and fine-tuning the concept for the new museum. You could draw from an extensive pool. Instead of the previous 2,500 dachshund exhibits, 5,000 will be on display in the future.

The two master florists opened their Passau Dachshund Museum in spring 2018, attracting visitors from all over the world to the Lower Bavarian city.
